- Habitat
Le crapaud vit dans la terre dans forêts, fossés, marécages, étangs, plaine et
montagne et on le trouve jusque dans les villes. Le crapaud connaît bien son territoire
et revient souvent au même refuge.
- Reproduction
en mars - avril, pendant cette période le mâle a des coussinets noirs et rugueux à
l'intérieur de ses doigts avec lesquelles il tient la femelle. Elle depose jusqu'à 8000
oeufs disposés en double cordons gélatineux accrochés aux plantes aquatiques. Seulement
1% produiront un adulte capable de doner une descendance.
- Régime Alimentaire
Se nourrit avec des proies vivantes qu'il attrappe en déroulant sa langue, longue et
collante.
Il joue un rôle important dans la destruction et régulation des invertébrés tels les
vers de terre, limaces, chenilles, coléoptères, fournis et autres insectes nuisibles
pour nos cultures.

- Habitat
De pad leeft in de grond, in bossen, greppels, moerasgebieden, meertjes, op de vlakte als
in de bergen, tot in de steden. Komt s'avonds te voorschijn en gaat dan op jacht.
Hij kent zijn territorium uitstekend en keert veelal op hetzelfde plekje terug.
- Voortplanting
Plant zich voort in maart - april, in deze periode heeft het mannetje ruwe zwartachtige
kussentjes aan de binnenkant van zijn vingers waarmee hij zich aan het vrouwtje vasthoudt.
Zij zet eitjes af in dubbele snoeren soms vastgeplakt aan waterplanten. Slechts 1% geven
een volwassen pad in staat zich voort te planten, als hij het tot dat stadium haalt.
- Voedsel
Voedt zich met levende prooi die hij met zijn lange, uitklapbare, kleverige tong grijpt.
Speelt een belangrijke rol in de vernietiging en regulatie van schadelijke insecten en
ander kruipende dieren als rupsen, mieren, slakken, etc.

The common toad lives in the ground, in forests, ditches, wetlands, lakes, in the plains
as in mountainous areas, sometimes also in cities.
Comes out at night en starts hunting. Knows its territorium very well and often returns to
the same spot.
- Reproduction
Reproduces in march-april, during this time the male has callous black cushions
on the inside of his fingers with which he holds the female.
She lays double strands of eggs, sometimes attached to aquatic plants. Only 1% of the eggs
give an adult toad able to reproduce itself, if it lives till that age.
- Food
Catches a live prey with its long and sticky tongue he can roll out.
The toad plays an important role in the destruction and regulation of crop
destroying pests like various insects, caterpillars, ants, snails, slugs etc..
